I am so excited for our trip to Italy! I mean, who wouldn't be!?! I've been planning on what I am going to need to take. We can only have a carry on each so I have to plan carefully! We're doing so much sight seeing and going to different cities so it doesn't make sense to have checked bags. We are going at the beginning of September so it will still be quite warm there. I want to be comfortable, cute, and cool. (as in not burning up!) Then you have to worry about the dress code for churches and that kind of thing. They don't allow bare shoulders or cleavage or skirts above the knee. Fortunately, I don't like short skirts or shorts anyways so I think I'll be ok.
I've read that it is likely to rain during that time so a small umbrella would definitely come in handy! Can you take an umbrella on an airplane or is that considered a weapon? Lol! Comfortable shoes are a must and every pair of TOMS I've ever owned were super comfy, so I'm leaning towards them in different styles! I'm totally digging this awesome compact digital camera from FujiFilm. I want one so badly! I'm going to save up as much as possible to get one so that I don't have to lug my DSLR around!
I am also a bit worried about pickpockets! I've read that Rome is notorious for pickpockets! I mean, obviously there are a ton of tourists that go there so I totally get it! The key is to not look like a tourist, but I believe you don't have to be a tourist to get pick pocketed! I'm planning on taking my Kavu rope sling to carry my camera and what-not. It can easily be worn on the front for extra safety, and there is plenty of room for maps, tour books and the extra lens that I want for the camera!
I definitely plan on taking a journal along so that I can write all of my thoughts down. There are going to be so many awesome things to do and see! I want to make sure that I document every single second of it!
You guys will probably see a few more posts like this because I am just waaaay too excited!
